Questions
1. While taking my photographs, I had to focus mainly on the time of day. Initially, I began by taking photographs outside in the mid-afternoon. This allowed for good lighting in the grass photos. For the image of the sunglasses, the outside environment was not providing me with the ultimate lighting, due to weather, and therefore I had to take this photo inside using artificial lighting. Without good lighting, the photo would not have had such a large shadow.
2. In each of my photographs, I used Photoshop as a tool to enhance the images. I made each image black and white by desaturating the image and altering the contrast, brightness, highlights, and shadows. I find that each image focuses more on the lighting by choosing the avenue of black and white. None of the effects take away from the subject of the photograph by using obscure effects, instead, each image can be enhanced by the lighting effect, making a basic object interesting.
3. If I were to do this project again, I would try using different subjects for the photographs. Because most were taken at relatively the same time, the subjects do not vary and the lighting is similar amongst the images. In the sunglasses image, I eliminated some shadow that the artificial light had made in the top right hand corner. This made the lighting more pleasing to the eye. I would not change this, but I could try to incorporate this idea into other images that needed to be enhanced or made more appealing.
