Questions
To obtain balance in this assignment, I used depth of field in a few of my photos. In the chair, paddles, and clothes line photos I used various objects of the background to balance out the object in the focused foreground. In the cloud and cookie images I could incorporate balance by using different objects on the same plane. The usage of adding another element allowed me to balance the main object.
Incorporating balance into the photograph adjusted the variety of elements I could use to create an interesting photo. In the images I would add a different object or color variation, or even texture to balance out the main object. In doing this, I was adding features that did not match the main element and create variety.
In the process of completing this assignment I encountered difficulty in finding natural balance. Therefore, I had to create balance through my own means. In the chair image, I used two similar objects of varying size in order to create balance. Neither chair dominated the other because the smaller was in the foreground, while the larger in the background. In the image of the paddles, I used the depth of field and the usage of a similar object in order to balance the first paddle. This was another instance where I had to create my own point of balance. In the photos that and balanced by halves, I used the natural split to create weighted symmetry between the two halves. This would be balanced based on the visual weight of the image. I encorporated this idea into my other images as well.
